WHAT IS A BRAND.-

Niwrka P

A brand is a concept that helps companies portray their business goals and values to help attract and retain loyal customers. Read here to find out more.

Branding is one of the first things you must consider when you start a business. A brand in marketing is an essential part of running a company that can set you apart from your competitors and helps increase your profits. However, only a few businesses have the proper knowledge and tools to effectively enhance their brand, with only 53% of companies believing that they do.

What is a Brand?

A brand is a concept that helps your customers identify your company or product. Brands help distinguish companies or products from competitors in the market. Consider a brand as your company's personality that can help attract customers to your business and ensure they remember who you are.

Brands are often expressed as logos or graphic designs. However, many things must be considered when creating a brand. Unlike money, you can not touch brands, so most businesses have problems creating an efficient branding strategy.

Types of Brands in Marketing

Depending on your business or company, there are four kinds of brands that you can create.

  • Corporate Brands: Big businesses create their brands based on their goals, target audience, values, services, products, and pricing and market their brands to give themselves a competitive edge.

  • Personal Brands: People create brands of themselves through social media by sharing posts and conducting meetings to promote their business.

  • Services Brands: Businesses that offer services instead of products use creative ideas to brand such services.

  • Product Brand: Also known as the merchandise brand, it involves marketing research and a target audience to create a brand for a single product.

The Importance of Branding

It is essential to understand that branding and marketing are two different aspects of running a business. While branding involves creating a persona for your business, marketing involves sharing that persona with potential customers.

As such, your brand can significantly impact your image and ability to target customers. Branding helps bring in customers; a good brand can also help you build connections and retain them. While product description and services are a big part of the business, a brand portrays the company's beliefs and values, helping customers build an emotional attachment.

Branding helps a business build credibility and trust with its customers, who, in return, are more likely to purchase services or goods again in case they need them.

How to Create a Brand?

To create a brand, you must develop a branding strategy. This involves all the stages you must complete creating an effective brand. To build a brand, you must:

  • Research the market: Research what other businesses or people in your niche are doing for their branding; this research helps you outline what your brand will look like.

  • Set goals: To know if your brand is effective, you must set monitoring goals. The different metrics you can set up include ROI, profits, customer conversion, and more. Setting goals helps you identify the effectiveness of your brand.

  • Research your target audience: You are designing a brand for your audience. Hence, you must know your target audience's values and ideals to create a brand that can help you reach out and attract them.

  • Design: Create a plan to represent your business. The design process includes logo design, color palette, website design, banners, business cards, and more.
