Love Yourself: Self-Care.-

We probably aren't even aware of our automatic physical reactions to everyday problems, hassles, issues, or crises.

In emergencies, the same stress responses help us act quickly. As the threat is resolved, our bodies adapt and return to normal function.

It's impossible to eliminate stress, and it's more realistic to find ways to reduce the anxious or fatiguing symptoms; paying attention to these is a good start.

Stress manifests in these four aspects of life:

Physical, Emotional, Behavioral, and Relationships.

Some ideas to better manage stress

  • Ask for support from family, close friends, or outside professional resources.

  • Set time aside for quiet meditation.

  • Do something about a small part of a problem.

  • Exercise, and eat a healthy and balanced diet.

  • Avoid drugs, alcohol & tobacco.

  • Accept changes as part of life.

  • Choose to do something you enjoy each day.

Let's chat more about that last one. Doing something we enjoy each day.

A perfect example! A good skincare routine at the end of a long day...more like every day.

This one can be a form of therapy; this is where Self-Care comes in to help alleviate stress.

  • Do you feel like you have no time for yourself?

  • Do you put everyone else's needs above your own?

We've all been there before: feeling physical, mentally, and emotionally drained.

Love yourself first!

It might sound selfish, but it's essential to be at your best and be present for others who depend on you.

  • You must invest energy into your well-being.

  • Self-care is an essential aspect of caring for yourself.

  • Take the time to slow down, acknowledge your needs, and give back to yourself.

Self-care doesn't have to be expensive or time-consuming. One of the simplest ways to indulge in self-care is through your daily skincare ritual, as I previously mentioned.

Developing a daily skincare routine is a therapeutic process that will help you feel your best.

Below are some tools, I recommend to enhance your self-care experience

I will discuss tips that you can incorporate into your routine for guidance.

Elevating Your Daily Ritual.

You most likely already have a daily skincare routine that you follow. If you don't, check out our previous blog post on how to create an effective regimen here.

Your skincare routine doesn't have to feel like a chore. Instead, view it as a way to step away from others and be with yourself. Even if you only have five minutes, this is a small moment of peace and relaxation– just for you!

Soothe away tension.

Slow down, breathe deeply several times, hold your breath for at least 4 seconds, and take a moment to gently massage your products into your skin until these are absorbed.

Facial massage is an excellent and effective way to alleviate stress and tension within the facial muscles. The gentle massages on your skin can also help with the lymphatic drainage of fluids, reducing any puffiness. If used in conjunction with a serum, it can help your skincare penetrate deeper into the epidermis, making your skincare products more effective.

I will discuss facial massages further in a future post.

Your hands and fingers will work just fine, but if you're looking to step it up, you can incorporate tools like jade rollers, gua-sha, ice globes, or even high-tech facial toning devices.

Here are some helpful tips to make it feel like a spa without leaving your own home!

Why not indulge in a luxurious at-home facial if you have some extra time? Take this time to move slowly, reconnect with yourself, and pamper your body!

Flick off the lights, light some candles, Lavender it's one of my personal favorites, and put on some soothing music.

Let's Mask

After removing makeup/SPF, cleansing, and exfoliating, apply a mask; this is the perfect time to use a face mask! After exfoliation, ingredients penetrate deeper into the epidermis to impart moisture or balance your skin.

Now is the time to go to bed. If you desire, you can play some soothing sounds like rain, one of my favorites.

Believe me, You will sleep like a baby! Sweet dreams!
